LatchKey Gallery | A Bronx Tale – Private Studio Exhibition Experience, Sunday, September 15th, 2PM-4PM South Bronx

We look forward to seeing you Sunday, September 15th from 12 -4pm.

As part of the private studio exhibition experience, we have collaborated with curators and creatives to offer thematic tours. These experiences will include up to 15 people so please let us know if you plan to participate. Below are the curators and themes. All tours will begin at THE BRONX TAVERN located at:

We encourage your participation but if you prefer to explore the studios on your own, do let us know – studio info will be sent out in a separate email.
Be sure to pick up your swag bag and say hi at THE BRONX TAVERN (bags are first come, first serve).

12.30 – Melinda Wang, is an independent curator and Founder and Principal of MW Projects, a cultural production and art advisory firm dedicated to bringing contemporary art to historic sites, non-traditional venues and liminal spaces.

Melinda will be visiting: Dario Calmese, Bianca Nemelc, Tariku Shiferaw, Nate Lewis and Lucia Hierro.

12.30 – Patrick Rowe, is an interdisciplinary artist, educator and arts administrator. Patrick is currently Director of Education at The Bronx Museum of the Arts where he oversees a wide range of school, teen and family programs. In addition to his work at the museum Patrick is a visiting professor at Pratt Institute where he teaches interdisciplinary graduate courses that focus on the intersection of art, pedagogy and activism.

Patrick will be visiting: Lucia Hierro, Nate Lewis, Patrick Alston and Estelle

1.00 – Deborah Cullen, is Executive Director of The Bronx Museum of the Arts. From 2012 to 2018, she served as Director & Chief Curator of The Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University in the City of New York, where she oversaw the opening of the new gallery in the Lenfest Center for the Arts on West 125th Street. Previously, Cullen was Director of Curatorial Programs at El Museo del Barrio, where she worked from 1997 to 2012. Cullen’s work centers on Latinx, Caribbean, and African American modern and contemporary art, with an emphasis on graphics and performance.

1.00 – Laura James, is an artist and founded of the BX200: Bronx Visual Artists Directory, a curated website for some of the Bronx’s best visual artists. In addition to showcasing portfolios from each artist, BX200 has expanded from being online to presenting art exhibitions and professional development workshops around New York City. James is invested in the Bronx and her community, and serves on her local Community Board.

Laura will be visiting: Alteronce Gumby, Franscisco Donoso, Bianca Nemelc and Renee Cox

2.00 – Elizabeth Dee, is a cultural entrepreneur, curator, publisher, consultant and producer. After two decades of dedication to gallery practice through collaborative initiatives, she now runs Independent Art Fairs in New York as CEO and co-founder. Elizabeth regularly lectures on topics of relevance to the field, particularly gallery and fair culture, innovation and the art market–and has been profiled in many international publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Vogue and The New York Times.

Elizabeth will be visiting: Alteronce Gumby, Estelle Maisonett, Lucia Hierro, and Tariku Shiferaw

3.00 – Akeem Duncan, Hailing from the southeast section of the Bronx, Duncan has dedicated his life to supporting and promoting the arts and the artists themselves. He is the founder of Quiet Lunch, an internationally distributed art magazine. Along with cultivating a career in art journalism and publishing, Duncan is also a curator and an avid poet.

Akeem will be visiting: Renee Cox, Nate Lewis, Tariku Shiferaw, Patrick Alston and Francisco Donoso
